A CLOSER LOOK AT THE PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS THAT ARE CHANGING LIVES

touchLifeTOUCH LIFE, LOVE LIFE
Thanks to the hard work and organization of the USANA staff and field teams, 764 USANA Associates provided an incredible amount of service to the people of Malaysia. From serving children’s homes inJohor Bahru to feeding street families in Kuala Lumpur, to serving those with mental illnesses in Kuching and even visiting rehabilitation centers in Batu Pahat, Associates did it all. They covered eight states, nine venues, and experienced so much excitement in giving back to this great part of the USANA family! Watch the video.

Our USANA Associates in China have been relentless at raising funds and using those funds to save lives. So far 33 children have received life-saving heart surgeries. Here is a video highlighting some of the families and the efforts being made. Watch the video.

kidsCampKIDS CAMP

For nearly 30 children living in poverty in the Masville Village, Paranaque, Philippines, a summer camp was something they’d never experienced before. The USANA True Health Foundation and volunteers from the USANA Philippines office facilitated a camp in conjunction with local partners like Diamond Director Dr. Marc
Cruz, who taught a class on good food choices.

With children ranging in age from 5–12, they all came from families considered “Class C” or “Class D,” meaning they live below the poverty line and often lack access to basic necessities for healthy growth. For eight weeks, starting at the end of April to the middle of June, the kids learned about a variety of subjects revolving around overall health.

Not only are the meals provided during the camp’s duration healthy, but they’re also planned out, approved, and prepped by a USANA Philippines supplier. And, of course, all the children who attended the camp made sure to get their daily dose of Usanimals™.

Following the graduation ceremony on June 11 for all the camp participants, the Foundation and local office are looking forward to replicating their efforts with even more children in a few months.

How One Day Built a Better Tomorrow

If I was to tell you that 25 volunteers were on their way to Tijuana, Mexico to build a house in less than eight hours with little or no construction experience, what would you say?

That’s just what these USANA Associates and volunteers from our partners at International Relief Teams pulled off with flying colors. The house was a bright shiny blue, which was a bold contrast against the stark reality of the surrounding environment.

They all spent a good part of a day helping Jose Luis Gonzales-Valdivia, his beautiful wife, and three children so they could move out of the primitive house they have been living in this past year and move into a secure structure they can be proud to call home.

We would like to thank all of our volunteers and donors who made the seemingly impossible a reality. It could not happen without you. Read more about it here.

drivingForceA DRIVING FORCE—RESULTS

If you didn’t follow Lane Ethridge and Sophie Langworthy’s trip across 48 states in 90 days, then you missed out on a great adventure. These two spent their spring and early summer traveling the country building their USANA businesses as well as raising money and awareness for the Foundation. In all, they raised enough to provide 6,540 meals for hungry families. We would like to thank them for their efforts and for being great ambassadors of giving and wish them much happiness in their new lives together. Yep, now they’re engaged!

basicNeedHEALTH = A BASIC NEED

Kurt, a Builder at USANA, reached out to us at the beginning of this year. He wanted to commit to a yearlong effort supporting the Foundation. Two thousand meals in, Kurt shared, “I want to give others a chance at making something out of their lives, because I believe that without health, you have nothing.” The Foundation wouldn’t be able to make such huge leaps in ending hunger without the vision and support of the worldwide USANA Family.

THE WTA HAS BEEN HARD AT WORK WHIPPING OUT MEALS FOR HUNGRY FAMILIES

mealsEMPLOYEES ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE THROUGH THE FOUNDATION

USANA employees have been a force for change! By the end of the first quarter, they had raised enough money for 122,184 meals. That’s nearly a quarter of the way to the goal of 500,000 meals by the end of 2016. The Foundation is grateful for these donations that are enabling them to help change lives around the world.

ASIA PACIFIC CONVENTION RECAP, BY DEB JORDAN

It was my first time attending the Asia Pacific Convention, and I didn’t know what I was in for. When the doors opened, thousands of Associates filled the convention hall, running for the store to purchase new products and merchandise. The Associates from Korea had a pre-choreographed dance and it was magnificent to watch the enthusiasm that filled the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre. Associates visited the USANA True Health Foundation booth and nearly 500 signed up for monthly subscription donations. With a spin of the wheel, you could win a teddy bear, THF pin, or Breakfast with the Usanimals. It was our largest donation boost to date. Our executives donated personal items for the silent auction, and the Foundation raised over US$40,000. It was a pleasure meeting our Associates from around the Asia Pacific region, and now I’m amped up for the International Convention in August.

COME PACK FOOD FOR HUNGRY FAMILIES

Convention is more than amazing speakers and informative workshops. It’s a chance to roll up your sleeves and really make a difference in the lives of people in need.

For the second year, the USANA True Health Foundation is putting together food packs during Convention. You’ll have the opportunity to join fellow Associates in building food packs for those less fortunate.

Last year we packed 150,000 meals, and we’re looking to surpass that number this year at Convention. Each 20-pound box of staple food has enough non-perishable food to prepare 48 meals. It only takes a minute to assemble, but it makes a world of difference for those in need.

Find the food packs at Convention and volunteer. For more information about the important work the USANA True Health Foundation is doing around the world and how you can help, check out our website.
